Samyra Nassif Lacerda

Dr. Samyra Lacerda graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais with a
Bachelors of Science in Biology. She received her Masters degree in Cellular Biology from the
Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in 2006, and her Doctor of Science degree in 2010,
studding the allogeneic and xenogeneic spermatogonia transplantation in adult fish. She is
currently Adjunct Professor in the Department of Morphology at UFMG, where teaches animal
anatomy. Her research interests are in fish spermatogonial biology including culture,
cryopreservation and genetic modification. She is now pursuing a research line in the field of
nanotechnology and biotechnology applied to fish reproduction and conservation.
